Tucked between Lwówek Śląski, and the Bóbr Valley lies a forgotten gem: the Löwenberger Schweiz. The name deliberately echoes better-known sandstone landscapes – and for good reason. Towering rock spires, weathered ridges, and winding ravines mark a terrain shaped over millions of years.

Geologically, this area belongs to one of the oldest landscapes in the region. Rock layers from the Permian and Triassic periods – more than 250 million years old – form the foundation. The mixture of sandstone, volcanic rock, and crystalline deposits has created a wild, visually stunning environment, protected today as a geological treasure.

Despite its dramatic beauty, the Löwenberger Schweiz remains off the radar for most tourists – and that’s exactly what makes it so special. Hikers often walk without seeing another soul. There are no souvenir shops or trail crowds here – just moss-covered stones, gnarled trees, and forest silence.
